To Educate Girls is to Reduce Poverty

"To Educate Girls is to Reduce Poverty"- Kofi Annan

Today, Oct 17th is the International Day of Eradication of Poverty and education is a proven way to alleviate poverty and bring lasting change.

Six out of 10 of the world’s poorest people are women. When women are empowered, whole families benefit, and these benefits often have a ripple effect on future generations. About two-thirds of the world’s illiterate adults are women. Lack of an education severely restricts a woman’s access to information and opportunities. Conversely, increasing women’s and girls’ educational attainment benefits both individuals and future generations. Higher levels of women's education are strongly associated with lower infant mortality and lower fertility, as well as better outcomes for their children. -https://www.unfpa.org/gender-equality#readmore-expand

Because of poverty, many African girls are unable to complete their education, but your support is helping change that. Thank you for helping to pave the way to a brighter and better future for young ladies in Sierra Leone through education. You are truly making a difference for girls with your generous support.

Making a monthly donation is the most effective way to help girls get their education, but every dollar donated makes a difference! If you are not yet a recurring donor and would like to sign up for a recurring donation go here

Another way to help is to share this project with your contacts and invite them to consider supporting this ongoing project. Just copy and paste the below text on your social media or create your own text.

I support girls' education in Sierra Leone. Educated girls educate the entire nation. Learn how can make a difference too at https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/educate-a-girl-educate-a-nation-sierra-leone/
